Frequently Asked Questions
What is Super Rare Water?
Super Rare Water is a 100% natural, liquid mineral-based water purifier designed to transform questionable freshwater into crystal-clear water that is safe to use. Its proprietary blend of flocculating and coagulating mineral salts helps eliminate or reduce 200+ contaminants, including heavy metals, industrial and agricultural chemicals, pharmaceuticals, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), Hexavalent Chromium, and many other unwanted impurities.
⸻
How does Super Rare Water work?
Super Rare Water works through the natural processes of Reduction-Oxidation (REDOX) and Coagulation-Flocculation (CF).
Reduction-Oxidation (REDOX) converts pollutants into compounds that are less toxic, less mobile, and more stable. REDOX works by transferring electrons from one compound to another. During this process, one compound is oxidized (loses electrons) while another is reduced (gains electrons). For example, toxic Hexavalent Chromium is converted into the non-toxic Trivalent Chromium.
Coagulation-Flocculation (CF) removes suspended contaminants, including microscopic particles as well as larger organic and inorganic matter, by causing them to bind together into larger particulates. As these particles clump together, they naturally settle to the bottom and can be easily removed by filtering the treated water through our Gravity Fed Filtration Unit, a standard water filter, coffee filter, or fine cloth.
NOTE: It may take anywhere from 1–48 hours for visible sediment to appear in treated water (colder water slows the process, while warmer water speeds it up). This does not mean the water is unsafe to drink. Super Rare Water begins working immediately after it is added to the water and requires only a 60-minute wait time before use.
⸻
What contaminants is Super Rare Water effective against?
Super Rare Water is effective against a broad range of contaminants—more than 200 in total—commonly found in outdoor and drinking water sources. These include agricultural and industrial chemicals, pharmaceuticals, heavy metals, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), disinfection byproducts, and many other contaminants.
Testing has been performed by a certified independent laboratory in accordance with EPA and NSF/ANSI standards where applicable. View our test reports for additional information.

⸻
How is Super Rare Water different from conventional water purifier tablets or drops?
Many conventional water purification products rely on synthetic chemicals that are not naturally occurring and may present health concerns, especially with prolonged use. Super Rare Water contains no synthetic chemicals.
Traditional water purification products may also create undesirable byproducts, such as chloramines, during treatment. Super Rare Water does not.
Many conventional products are intended only for short-term or emergency use, while Super Rare Water has no usage restrictions and is designed for safe, everyday use. In fact, many of our customers prefer treated Super Rare Water over any other water they regularly drink.
Unlike many traditional purification products, which have not been proven safe for children or pregnant women, Super Rare Water is safe for everyone to use.
In addition, many conventional water treatment products are not effective against chemicals, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, and other toxic contaminants that can pass through standard filter membranes. Super Rare Water is designed to address these contaminants, helping ensure they are not present in your finished treated water.
⸻
I already use a water filter. Why do I need Super Rare Water?
Pre-treating your water with Super Rare Water provides an added level of protection against many of today’s most common toxic contaminants. While most portable water filters are highly effective at removing biological contaminants, outdoor and municipal water sources can also contain agricultural chemicals, industrial pollutants, pharmaceuticals, heavy metals, and other contaminants.
Super Rare Water helps neutralize these unwanted contaminants, making them easier to filter. By treating your water before filtration, these contaminants become inert and are less likely to pass through your filtration system.
⸻
How do I use Super Rare Water?
Simply add the recommended amount of Super Rare Water to your water and shake well to ensure even distribution. Allow the water to stand for at least 60 minutes, then filter and enjoy.
NOTE: Results may vary depending on water quality. Heavily contaminated water may require additional solution. Super Rare Water is intended for freshwater sources only and should not be used with salt water. If you have any questions or need assistance, our experts are here to help.
⸻
How soon can I drink my water after treating it with Super Rare Water?
Although treatment time may vary slightly depending on factors such as water temperature and contamination level, it is recommended that treated water sit for at least 60 minutes before drinking. This waiting period allows Super Rare Water sufficient time to purify and clarify the water for use.
⸻
What types of water can Super Rare Water treat?
Super Rare Water can be used with virtually any non-salt freshwater source, including—but not limited to—tap water, streams, rivers, lakes, ponds, and similar freshwater sources.
⸻
How long can I use Super Rare Water?
You may use Super Rare Water for as long as you wish. There are no usage restrictions, making it suitable for regular, everyday use at the recommended dosage rates.
⸻
What is the shelf life of Super Rare Water?
Super Rare Water does not require an expiration date and will remain effective indefinitely when stored properly. Even after opening, it will retain its effectiveness without losing potency.
⸻
How should I store Super Rare Water?
For best results, keep Super Rare Water in its original container and store it in a cool, dry location out of direct sunlight between 40°F and 100°F. This helps protect the bottle, as plastics can gradually degrade when exposed to prolonged sunlight or extreme temperatures.
