A Journey That Began with Clean Water
Every meaningful journey begins with a question.
For Ryan Schumacher, that question was simple:
How can clean water change lives?
The answer would lead him on a journey that would shape the rest of his life.
Ryan’s journey into Africa began with a calling to serve. His first step onto the continent came through Love Mercy, the humanitarian organization he founded, whose mission of caring for vulnerable communities profoundly shaped the direction of his life. There, he embraced what he describes as the heart of “pure and undefiled religion” feeding the hungry, serving the poor, and bringing hope through practical action.
As the mission expanded, Ryan and his longtime partner, Noel Alexander, recognized that lasting change required more than drilling individual wells. Communities needed sustainable water systems capable of supporting agriculture, schools, businesses, and long-term development.
To help accomplish that vision, Ryan founded and led the Kenya operation for MAJITECH, building a world-class water drilling and infrastructure company dedicated to developing sustainable water supplies throughout East Africa. Working alongside Noel Alexander, Doug Pitt, and an exceptional team of business leaders from the Midwest and around the world, MAJITECH Kenya undertook large-scale clean water initiatives that delivered sustainable water infrastructure to communities across Kenya and beyond.
What began with clean water quickly evolved into a much greater purpose: helping communities establish productive farms, strengthen food security, and create healthier, more sustainable futures through responsible water development.
Over the course of nearly a decade, Ryan lived and worked throughout Kenya, with projects extending into Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, and Ethiopia.
Working alongside geologists, farmers, universities, village leaders, and local families, Ryan helped develop groundwater resources, restore springs, design irrigation systems, and support projects serving schools, orphanages, and sustainable agriculture. Much of this work took place in some of the most remote and challenging regions of sub-Saharan Africa, where scarce rainfall and limited infrastructure make food production an everyday challenge.
Growing up in the deserts of Arizona gave Ryan a lifelong appreciation for farming in difficult climates. Africa deepened that passion, teaching him firsthand how water quality, mineral balance, and healthy soils can transform dry landscapes into productive farmland.
Those experiences became the foundation of his lifelong commitment to regenerative agriculture and ultimately inspired the philosophy behind Super Rare Water.
From Experience to Innovation
Ryan has always believed that nature is the greatest teacher.
Years spent observing how water moves through mineral-rich environments, how healthy soils support thriving ecosystems, and how small changes can create lasting impact shaped the vision that would eventually become Super Rare Water.
Today, that same curiosity continues to guide ongoing research into mineral technology, water chemistry, and regenerative agriculture.
Rather than chasing quick solutions, Ryan remains committed to understanding the natural systems that have sustained life for generations.
His work today reflects the same philosophy that first took him to Africa: observe carefully, learn continuously, and steward the resources we’ve been entrusted with.
Continuing the Mission
Today, Ryan continues pursuing that same vision by growing mineral-balanced fruits and vegetables—including desert-grown watermelons and cucumbers—with the goal of producing nutrient-dense food while demonstrating the value of healthy water, healthy soil, and responsible stewardship of the land.
His work continues through agricultural research, field trials, educational outreach, strategic partnerships, and the ongoing development of Super Rare Water.

Throughout his work in Africa, Ryan contributed to projects serving governments, humanitarian organizations, and private-sector clients. His work supported the development of sustainable water infrastructure, agricultural systems, and humanitarian initiatives that improved access to clean water and strengthened communities throughout East Africa.
